Hiya Sawhney, RYT 200, focuses on alignment-based practices, emphasizing the integration of breathing and intentional muscle engagement aimed at cultivating a greater sense of balance and openness. She became a Registered Yoga Teacher, RYT 200 after completing her teacher training at the Yoga Center of Columbia in 2020. During that time, she was simultaneously completing her undergraduate education in bioengineering, which has helped her understand the anatomy and biomechanics involved in yoga and movement practices. Since becoming an RYT 200, she completed her Y4A Yoga for Amputees teacher training. She is now a Y4A Yoga for Amputees Teacher and has been apprenticing and substitute teaching in the Y4A Accessible/Amputee Yoga classes at the Yoga Center of Columbia.
