Romy Phillips, MFA, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT has taught yoga since 2001, first in Los Angeles (2001-2018), and most recently in Maryland. She is the author of "Yoga Forma: A Visual Resource Guide for the Spine and Lower Back". In addition, she leads workshops, trainings, and retreats in the US and Asia.
Romy led teacher trainings for YogaWorks from 2012- 2019, in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka), China (Beijing, Shenzhen), and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City). She also held workshops and intensives at First Ship Yoga School, in Tokyo (2015 -2019).
Romy loves to travel and experience new cultures. Her blog "Yoga with Romy" highlights her traveling experiences as a yoga teacher and has gained international recognition.
Romy is an avid Ashtanga practitioner, meditation instructor, and yoga therapist. Romy was a physical therapy aide at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. She was an intern in the SOARING Program sponsored by the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She worked as a Clinical Technician on a medical unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD (2021-2022) and is now a Clinical Customer Service Coordinator for The Department of Surgery at JHH. Romy is currently completing pre-requisites in preparation for nursing school.
